Happy New Year! Welcome to a new year of the 52-Week Blog Challenge.
Ever since I wrote my first story and “published it” using construction paper and cardboard, I’ve had the dream to one day become a professional writer. Check out this post about my favorite story.
I wrote for fun as a young girl in elementary school writing stories, superhero plays, Easter plays and Christmas plays that family and friends starred in. The superhero plays usually involved X-men.
As I got older, I wrote poems and songs about nature, family and boy bands I loved. I look back fondly about my fictional adventures and smile at my naiveté. Because, life got in the way and demanded my attention so I had to put writing aside for a while.
Now I’m pursuing a career as an author of romance and science fiction in this next phase of my working life. Have I let anyone other than close family read my work? Only one person. Am I published yet? No, but I hope to change that this year. Will I write for profit or enjoyment? It will be a little bit of both and so I feel I’m up for the challenge.
Please let me know what your thoughts are in the comments below and check out other authors participating in this blog hop.
I have full confidence you will achieve your goal!
Thank you, Nancee! I appreciate your vote of confidence. Thanks for visiting!
I love it that your first story was illustrated. Did you keep it? I wish I still had the notebooks where I scribbled my early Start Trek fan fiction. I’d never share it, but it’d be fun to see again.
I still have the story. I found it buried in a drawer in my old room at my mom’s house. Thanks for visiting!
Since I’m an author of both Sci-Fi romance, I’d be very interested in reading your 1st book! You go, girl! You’ve got this:)
