The first Wednesday in April is National Walking Day.
Here are some great ways to make a 30-minute or more walk more enjoyable:
- Make sure to stretch your muscles.
- Make sure you have good posture.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Move your arms while walking, too.
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Places to walk include a park, your neighborhood, hiking trails, a school or public track.
The American Heart Association sponsors this day to remind people about the health benefits of taking a walk. For more information, visit www.heart.org.
